Thanks!
Hi Coach Dana!!
I just wanted to let you know that I have officially committed to play volleyball at Wittenberg University for the next four years!  Thank you for all that you and other coaches at Glass City have done for me for the past ten years.  You have helped me develop my skills in order to continue my volleyball career at a collegiate level.  Thank you for teaching me so much about volleyball and life in general.  You have helped me to become the hard worker and determined person I am today.  So once again let me say thank you for all you have done for me in my Glass City Volleyball career and for always being willing to help your players in any way you can.  I deeply appreciate all you and my other coaches have done for me.

Sincerely,
Jessie Batanian

Dana,

Just wanted to take a moment and tell you how much we enjoy GCVC.  After only 5 or 6 practices it seems we have a great group of girls and parents.  Samantha lost the spirit after the CYO year and we didn’t know what to think of the situation.  She is so excited with Coach Jeff and Coach Erin, the fire is back and we couldn’t be more pleased for her. After talking with other parents from other clubs it is clear we made the right choice.

  Thanks again Dana for everything

Dear Dana,

I want to thank Glass City Volleyball Club for being more then just a J.O. club they have been more like a family to my daughter, Jasmine Battle, and myself.  Dana Hooper, you took Jasmine under your protective wing, you placed her on your 14-1 team knowing that she had received only limited training from another club. I thank you for seeing her potential.  The GCVC coaches have been unique in the lessons and skill levels taught each year and I could never thank you all enough.  Jasmine received the honor of being nominated to Division 1 - 1st team all city, Division 1 - 1st team all district and honorable mention Division 1 - 1st team state of Ohio.  All three of these honors we share with Bowsher High School and GCVC.  We have been part of the GCVC family for 5 years and although the time passed swiftly the experience will never be forgotten.

I am extremely proud to say that Jasmine Battle signed her letter of intent to play with Indiana Tech on January 26, 2009, and I know she will be a great asset to the Warriors thanks to the opportunity to play at a national level each year with GCVC.

Again, I thank you and the GCVC coaches for the never ending support you've given to our family and accepting and making Jaz and I a member of the GCVC family.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Hamilton

Dana,

As first time Glass City members, we wanted to give a note of Thanks to Dana and the Glass City Volleyball Club for offering a program that is affordable, but still offers great coaching, demands commitment and excellence, and most importantly is family oriented as our daughter prepares to leave for college.

We are very happy that Kelsea has chosen to play volleyball in college and thank-you Dana for you personal and professional advice.  We feel that our player is much more relaxed and confident as she prepares for college play and we as her parents are also much more relaxed in these tough economic times.

Dear Dana,

My daughter began playing volleyball four short years ago for the Glass City Volleyball Club.  She came to tryouts with no experience, no resume and no relationships with anyone in the local volleyball community.  Glass City took her in, encouraged her, challenged her, and gave her what no other club was willing to do, an opportunity to learn.  I will be forever grateful to you and your coaching staff for the experiences that my daughter has received both on and off the court.  She has learned how to be a team player, how to be a leader, and how to be a friend.  She has learned from success and failures and from her coaches and teammates.  The principles that you teach your players go way beyond volleyball and the personal commitment you give to all your players is nothing short of amazing.

I am proud to say that my daughter has accepted a full scholarship to Cleveland State University; was named to the High School All American All Academic Team and was a finalist for the best setter in the country.  She has a 4.3 GPA and is planning a career in medicine.  My daughter has worked very hard but I want to thank you and Tony for your hard work and dedication as well.  I will always remember overhearing your discussion with another player in the club.  She was concerned that volleyball was taking too much time away from other activities she wanted to participate in.  You began asking her what type of life she wanted to have, what job, children, marriage, friends and she explained all her hopes for her future.  After listening to her you said that you felt this confirmed your opinion that she should continue playing volleyball.  This confused her and I admit I was too but then you explained that in order to accomplish everything she wanted she would have to master the art of multi-tasking and if she could not do this now she would never be able too.  I was amazed at how succinct and convincing your argument was.  Your biggest concern has always been what type of young women were being created during the season not just what type of volleyball players they would become.

Once again thank you for all you have done for Jordan.  None of us will ever forget it and we will always be proud to say we were members of the Glass City Volleyball Club.

Respectfully,

Glass City Volleyball Club
Attention:  Dana Johnson

Glass City Volleyball Club is a family based club that is interested in the complete development of their athletes, academically, socially, and emotionally.  We have two daughters that have been involved in the Glass City Volleyball Club for the past two years.  The growth we have seen in the girls is astounding, not just in volleyball, but athletically and socially.

Our daughters have developed friendships for a lifetime through their club involvement.  Traveling with the Glass City families is a fun and entertaining experience.  We, too, have developed new friendships throughout the years.

The director, Dana Johnson, welcomes and knows the names and faces of each family and every player.  It is truly amazing to us that Dana is able to know everyone.  Dana makes herself available to the parents at anytime when there are questions or concerns.  Dana and the coaching staff have a keen sense of understanding the abilities of the athletes.  The club understands and balances the needs of the families and athletes in their personal and academic commitments.

The GCVC coaches are knowledgeable and dedicated individuals with prior volleyball coaching experience.  The coaches try to develop the potential of all the athletes.  We have been fortunate to have participated in such a positive volleyball experience.
