12-2 Team Places Second in
Wooster
The
Lime Green Superstars sparkled Saturday, April 5 in Wooster!
The first game against MCVBC was in question thanks to a few
directionally challenged adults, but the girls were cool under
pressure. They overcame a 10-point deficit and won the match
in two games. In their next match, Maurissa Leonard
served 24 points in a row and the Superstars won easily in two.
The third match proved more difficult but the girls played with
teamwork and confidence and were ready for tournament play.
In the first game of gold,
the Superstars shot past the Cleveland Volleyball Company’s 12-2
team, ranked 16th
in the state, to earn a spot in the finals. The girls lost in
three games in the final round to the Klars Gold team but they
played their best volleyball of the season in this tournament.
Coach Dave has them shooting for the stars and they are shining!

Glass City's 13-1 Team won GOLD at TVC's
Rec Center Tournament
on March 29th!
They were undefeated for the day, beating TVC,
Northshore VBC and SJVC during pool play. In the gold bracket,
they beat both Mintonette and Blackswamp in two games each!

13-2 Wins Silver in Findlay
March 30
After another sluggish start, our
girls (minus a couple of players) came back on strong
to finish second in silver. Way to go girls ! Keep working
hard!

15-1 Team Places Second in Gold at
Fort Wayne
After a
Friday night slumber party at Coach Beth’s parent’s house, the
15-1 Limers took second in gold at Wayne High School in
Fort Wayne , IN
on Saturday, March 15th. Through 2 rounds of
pool play they defeated everyone in just 2 games, allowing their
opponents to score only an average of 15 points per game.
In tournament play they first defeated Huron Valley in a quick 2
game match that was over in just a half hour. In the
second round they had a tough contest against the Fort Wayne
Saints, but came out victorious in just 2 games again. In
the finals of the Gold, they came up against another tough Huron
Valley team and fell just short, losing the final game 25-23.
In all it was a great weekend, and the team is ready for the bid
tournament in Columbus coming up in April.
12-1 Team Wins Gold at
Reynoldsburg
Glass City
12-1 won Gold at the Batters Box in Reynoldsburg on Sunday March
2.
The team
cruised through the pool rounds winning all 3 matches in 2 sets
each. They never looked better.
But little did we know they were saving the best for the
tournament rounds.
In the Gold
Bracket the team destroyed their first opponent.
Then, in the second round they took on Columbus United
and played their best yet. For the finals the
Kentucky
Tsunami’s came to play, but the
Glass City
12-1 team would not be denied victory. They
came from behind in the first game, then went neck and neck
towards the end of the second, only to pull
away and send the Tsunami’s back out to sea.
Congratulations 12-1

Glass City 13-2 wins first
in Silver at
UT
The 13-2 team continues to improve
each tournament. After a sluggish start, the 13-2 came back on
strong with powerful serving, good coaching, and hustle to win
first in Silver. Great job girls!

Glass City's 13-1 Team wins Gold at Old
Fort!
On March 2, the
13-1 girls
were
undefeated in the tournament, defeating
teams from TVC, Black Swamp, and Old Fort.

13-1 ties for first in the

hotel doors!
We

for our "peace" -
confidence, courage, teamwork,
compassion, perserverance,
resilience, positive attitude,
humor, and love!
Glass City
13-1 wishes to congratulate our 13-2

THE NEW PIMAG WATER BOTTLES
Glass City is proud to supply educational

granulated activated coconut carbon available.
It contains thousands of interconnected omni-directional
pores resulting in a path flow that creates a
maze to removes contaminants including sediments
and chlorine.

begin using the bottles,
they are on the yellow pages in the instruction
books.
The second phase is to learn more about proper
nutrition. We will be hosting a nationally known
speaker on nutrition: Mr. Roger Drummer. The

Quilts
of Compassion
After a terrible car
accident in 1999, a young
woman laid in a small
hospital room suffering
immense physical and
emotional pain from her
recent trauma. It was
a daily fight to conquer the
feelings of hopelessness,
fear and loneliness that
tried to overwhelm her.
However, this despair was
turned to hope and
encouragement one afternoon
when she received a
beautiful quilt from a
hospital Chaplain.
This seemingly simple
gesture had a profound and
life-changing affect on this
troubled young woman.
With the quilt wrapped
tightly around her at night,
she felt God's warm presence
surrounding her, giving her
peace and comfort during
this trying situation.
It was at this point she
realized she wanted to five
this wonderful gift to
others... the gift of hope
and encouragement to those
that are hurting.
Quilts of
Compassion was started in
1999 by this one young woman
as a way to reach out to
others in need. With
their mission of giving hope
and encouragement to those
that are hurting, the Quilts
of Compassion ministry works
with volunteers from local
churches and community
organization to gather
fabric, make quilts and
deliver quilts. In
doing this, it has brought
encouragement and hope to
the hurting, but also has
taught volunteers about the
joy of giving.
To date over 30,00 quilts
and afghans have been
delivered to hospitals,
nursing homes, retirement
communities, homeless
shelters, Hospice
facilities, rehabilitation
facilities, half-way houses,
at-risk yout facilities,
homes for abused and
neglected woman and
children, and in the
missionary field overseas.
As of October 2007, there
are 300 members involved in
the Quilts of Compassion
ministry in Michigan and
Ohio. The ministry is
open to men, women, and
children of all ages that
have a heart to bless people
in need with quilts and
afghans. Whether you
are new to quilting or
crocheting or a pro, or
maybe you have skills that
can help Quilts of
Compassion with organizing
quilt deliveries, gathering
fabric donations,
fundraising events, etc., we
would love for you to
experience the
relationships, joy and the
incredible hearts of the
members of Quilts of
Compassion and the
recipients of the quilts.
If you have any questions
about the Quilts of
Compassion Ministry or you
know someone that is
struggling physically,
emotionally, or spiritually
and you would like us to
deliver a quilt to them
please contact Janice Grimes
at (419) 84106765 or (419)
